Zara Larsson has already teamed up with some major names, but there is another superstar on her wish list. During a recent Los Angeles concert stop, the Swedish pop singer revealed that she would be more than ready to work with Colombian hitmaker Karol G.
The moment happened during the VIP pre-show soundcheck ahead of Larsson’s Tuesday, Sept. 29 concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. As fans gathered before the show, one audience member decided to ask the question that was clearly on their mind.
“Zara, can we expect a collab with Karol G?” the fan asked.
Larsson did not need much time to think about it.
“Oh, I would love!” Larsson answered. “Of course!”
That enthusiastic response may not be an official announcement, but it certainly sounds like Larsson would be happy to make the collaboration happen. Now, all that is missing is a song, a studio session, and perhaps a few very busy calendars lining up at the same time.
Zara Larsson Is No Stranger to Big Collaborations
A Larsson and Karol G collaboration would make plenty of sense considering Larsson has already worked with another Colombian music superstar.
Larsson previously collaborated with Shakira. The two joined forced in a reworked version of Larsson’s “Eurosummer,” which appeared on her remix album Midnight Sun: Girls Trip.
That connection gives Larsson some experience working across pop and Latin music, making a future Karol G collaboration an especially interesting possibility. Karol G has become one of the biggest names in Latin music, while Larsson has built an international pop career of her own.
Still, for now, fans will have to treat Larsson’s comments as what they are: an enthusiastic expression of interest rather than a confirmed collaboration.
Sexyy Red Also Joined Larsson on Stage
Larsson had another surprise for fans later that night when she brought out Sexyy Red to perform "Looking For The Hoes (Ain't My Fault)."
While Sexyy Red handled the performance, Larsson danced along at the side of the stage as the crowd roared. It was another reminder that Larsson is not afraid to mix things up during her Midnight Sun Tour.
With Shakira already part of her collaboration history and Sexyy Red now making a surprise appearance, Larsson clearly has no problem sharing the stage with artists from different corners of music.
A Karol G appearance or collaboration would take that idea one step further.
For her ongoing Midnight Sun Tour, Larsson plays her second Greek Theatre night on Wednesday, Sept. 30, before taking the tour to Asia, Australia, and New Zealand in October.
Meanwhile, Karol G is deep into her own stadium run with her Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour, which kicked off in late July and is scheduled to wrap up its North American leg in Dallas, Texas on October 15.
So, while there is no Karol G and Zara Larsson song to add to the playlist just yet, Larsson has made her feelings pretty clear. If the Colombian superstar ever gets a call about a potential studio session, it sounds like Larsson will be picking up.
