Megan Thee Stallion released "Tina Tuesday Freestyle" on Tuesday. This marks her first single of the year. The track brings back her Tina Snow alter ego before Act III drops. It samples Mike Jones' Houston anthem "Still Tippin'" and includes a video showing the rapper beside an orange lowrider.

The Houston native had planned to release Act III during summer, but she spent most of those months in Miami recording and writing. "I was very sad because I came to the realization that I was not gonna drop a summer album," she said to Marie Claire. "I wanted to take my time and record and really write and figure it out."

The three-time GRAMMY winner promises the album will showcase a different side of her artistry. She experimented with her voice. She tried sounds outside her comfort zone for this project.

"It was a little bit out of my comfort zone to try my voice in a different way or over a different kind of beat," she told the publication. "I was a little shy this go-round, but everybody has been so supportive in hyping me up. I feel like the hotties are gonna appreciate this."

The rapper addressed criticism that her songs sound too similar to past releases. "I think I have such a distinct voice, such a distinct accent," she said during the interview. "I feel like sometimes people are interpreting it as 'She sounds the same on all her songs.'"

The artist also made her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical and appeared in the NBC series The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins and the Netflix movie Roommates. She was featured on a remix for Dolly Babe's "Pink Blush" earlier this year.

The Tina Snow persona first appeared on her 2018 EP of the same name. It's named after the late rapper Pimp C's alter ego Tony Snow.
