Alabama To Host Georgia Under the Lights on Oct. 10: Rivalry With Major SEC, Playoff Stakes

Alabama hosts Georgia at 6:30 p.m. CT on Oct. 10 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. ABC will broadcast this prime-time showdown. The SEC made the announcement Monday. This marks the third consecutive year these two programs clash during the regular season.

Both squads enter with 4-0 records. No. 7 Alabama travels to face No. 16 Mississippi State on Saturday, while No. 2 Georgia welcomes Vanderbilt. The Crimson Tide's last three regular-season battles with the Bulldogs have all kicked off under the lights.

Since 2020 started, Alabama has faced Georgia seven times. The Crimson Tide won five, including SEC Championships in 2021 and 2023. Georgia captured its first of consecutive national titles with a 33-18 victory over Alabama in Indianapolis during Jan. 2021.

Alabama owns a 45-27-4 all-time record against Georgia. The Bulldogs haven't won at Bryant-Denny Stadium since Sept. 22, 2007.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart sits at 2-7 against Alabama since taking over the Bulldogs. He spent 2007 through 2015 coaching at Alabama under Saban.

"All the credit goes to the players who have had a very long, tough, hard season. The kids in our program buy into hard. I appreciate their toughness in the way they do things. That pays off in the long run," Smart said after the 2025 SEC Championship Game, per 247Sports. "To win back-to-back SEC championships, it's every kid in this footprint's dream and an honor to be at Georgia and to be the head coach here and win games like this."

Georgia hasn't played a night game yet in the 2026 season. This Oct. 10 matchup becomes the Bulldogs' second ABC appearance this year, after their Sept. 19 trip to Arkansas.
