RAYE is clearing up those Michael B. Jordan dating rumors, and it sounds like roller coasters are at least partly to blame.
The British singer-songwriter found herself at the center of romance speculation after she and the Sinners actor were spotted together at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California last month. Now, RAYE is offering a little more insight into their friendship while also hinting that she and Jordan have something else in the works.
During the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 27, RAYE spoke with multiple outlets about her much-discussed amusement park outing with Jordan.
In an interview with Extra on the VMAs red carpet, RAYE, whose real name is Rachel Keen, teased an upcoming professional collaboration with the actor.
“I’m technically not allowed to talk about it because I might get in trouble,” she said.
That certainly sounds like there is more going on behind the scenes, but RAYE made one thing clear: she and Jordan are not dating, at least according to her.
The “Escapism” artist was spotted riding multiple attractions with Jordan at the Valencia, Calif., amusement park on Friday, Aug. 7, leading to plenty of online speculation about whether the two had become more than friends.
RAYE, however, offered a much simpler explanation.
“No, we’re just friends who like roller coasters,” she told the outlet.
Honestly, that is one way to turn a Six Flags trip into a headline.
RAYE and Jordan Have Been Working Together
RAYE gave another update during a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight on the 2026 MTV VMAs red carpet. While she continued to describe Jordan as a friend, she confirmed that the two have been working on something together.
RAYE said she and Jordan have “been working on some things, which is really nice.”
“I love it,” added the musician, who told the outlet they’re “just lovely friends.”
The comments suggest that whatever RAYE was teasing with Extra is connected to a professional project, though she did not reveal exactly what the pair has been working on.
For now, fans will have to wait for the mystery to unfold.
RAYE Is Still Waiting for Love
While the Michael B. Jordan rumors have given fans plenty to talk about, RAYE has also been open about her hopes for her own love life.
The singer experienced major hit success over the past year with “Where Is My Husband!” She has also recently talked about refusing to make her next album until she finds love, and she appears to be sticking to that goal.
Still, RAYE is not interested in forcing romance to happen just for the sake of checking a box.
“I’m really excited, but also not forcing that chapter,” she told ET. “It just needs to find you naturally, you know, and they do say love finds you when you stop looking. So, I’m just out here doing my work, getting it done, getting sleep when I can.”
For someone who has a song called “Where Is My Husband!” that sounds like a pretty relaxed approach to the search.
RAYE previously opened up about what she wants in a future husband during a November 2025 interview with PEOPLE at Bloomingdale’s N.Y.C. holiday window unveiling in partnership with Burberry.
“Words of affirmation is my love language,” she said. “So, you need to have the qualities of a good communicator. Communication is so important to me.”
So, while the singer may not be rushing into romance, she clearly knows what she wants when the right person does come along.
Jordan Has Kept His Love Life Private
Jordan, meanwhile, has largely kept his romantic life out of the spotlight in recent years. His most recent public relationship was with Lori Harvey, Steve Harvey’s daughter, from 2020 to 2022.
Since then, the actor has not publicly confirmed a relationship, which may help explain why a casual amusement park outing with RAYE quickly turned into dating speculation.
For now, though, RAYE's version of the story is simple. She and Jordan are friends, they enjoy roller coasters, and they have apparently been working on something together.
Whether that mystery collaboration involves music, acting or something completely unexpected remains under wraps. And considering RAYE's warning that she could “get in trouble” for saying too much, she seems perfectly happy to keep that part of the story locked up for now.
Meanwhile, RAYE had plenty to celebrate at the VMAs beyond the Jordan rumors. She performed a medley of “I Will Overcome” and “Where Is My Husband!” during the show, along with a cover of George Michael’s “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)” as part of a group tribute performance honoring the late Wham! member.
So, whether RAYE is talking about music, love or roller coasters, one thing is clear: she has given fans plenty to talk about.
