Taylor Swift has new music on the way. The singer announced Tuesday that her new single, "Patient Zero," will be released on Friday, September 25.

Swift shared the news on social media after days of Easter eggs and speculation from fans. She wrote that she had been "impatiently waiting" to announce the new song and revealed that it was available for preorder on her website for a limited time.

When Does Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" Come Out?

"Patient Zero" arrives September 25, 2026.

Swift is also offering limited collector's-edition CDs through her website. The releases include different versions of the song, including acoustic and piano versions. The CDs are available for a limited time and while supplies last.

Taylor Swift's Latest Easter Eggs

As usual, Swift had fans searching for clues before the announcement.

In recent days, she made several changes to her online presence, including replacing some letter "O"s with zeros. Fans also noticed other changes to her website and Apple Music profile.

Swift also appeared in a surprise Law & Order: SVU parody during the 2026 Emmys, where she delivered a series of cryptic phrases that sent fans searching for possible clues about her next move.

While fans have speculated about everything from a new album to Taylor's Version releases, those theories have not been confirmed.

"Patient Zero" Follows Another 2026 Release

"Patient Zero" will be Swift's second new song of 2026. Earlier this year, she released "I Knew It, I Knew You," an original song featured in Toy Story 5. The track marked another connection to Swift's country roots and became a major success on the Billboard charts.

Swift is also set to receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, recognizing her work and influence in visual storytelling.

For now, fans won't have to wait much longer to hear what's next. Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" arrives Friday, September 25.
