Drake Wants Jim Carrey to Roast Him for His 40th Birthday

Drake is about to hit the big 4-0, and apparently, he has one birthday wish that is a little more dangerous than cake and candles: getting roasted by Jim Carrey.

The Toronto superstar turns 40 this October, and after seeing Carrey deliver some hilarious jokes for comedian Jeff Ross, Drake made it clear that he would love to become the next target.

On Sunday (Sept. 13), comedian Jeff Ross, widely known for his prominence in the world of roasts, shared a video to Instagram celebrating his own birthday. The video featured Carrey showing off his comedy skills by taking aim at Ross.

At one point, Carrey joked that Ross was such an “ugly baby” at birth that “God made his mother sign an NDA.”

That is one way to wish someone a happy birthday.

Carrey kept the jokes coming. He also playfully claimed that he would make “millions of dollars in passive income” in the same amount of time it would probably take Ross to make a wish and blow out his birthday candles.

Ross clearly had no problem being the punchline. He told fans that the video made him “so happy” and encouraged others to join the roast in the comments.

Drake did not need much convincing.

The rapper jumped into the comments with a simple but very telling message: “Wow this is now all I want for my birthday.”

Considering Drake's birthday celebrations are usually anything but low-key, that comment could be the beginning of a very entertaining October.

Drake's request is especially fitting because Carrey is not exactly known for holding back when it comes to comedy. A roast from the actor and comedian could turn into one of the most memorable parts of Drake's 40th birthday.

The Iceman artist was also joined in the comments by another Canadian Carrey fan, Simple Plan frontman Pierre Bouvier.

So, there is already a little Canadian support building around the idea.

Whether Carrey actually takes Drake up on the offer remains to be seen. But considering Drake publicly announced his birthday wish, it would certainly be funny if Carrey decided to make him regret asking.

And if anyone knows how to turn a roast into a full comedy event, it is probably Carrey.

Drake's birthdays have become events in their own right. In 2025, he celebrated his 39th birthday with a Bahamas getaway, giving fans another glimpse at how the rapper likes to mark another year.

Turning 40 feels like an even bigger milestone.

The rapper has also had a particularly busy year. So far, 2026 has included the release of three full-length studio albums, giving Drake plenty to celebrate before the candles even arrive.

Now, he has apparently added one more item to the birthday checklist: Jim Carrey roasting him.

A Drake birthday party can probably be expected to come with plenty of music, celebrities and flashy moments. But if Carrey shows up with a microphone and a stack of jokes, Drake might finally get the birthday present he is asking for.

The only question is whether Drake will still be smiling once the roast begins.
