RAYE unveiled the music video for "Joy" on Sept. 7. Her sisters, Amma and Absolutely, joined her, traveling through London streets to hand out sunflowers to strangers. The three drove around in a van they called the Joymobile while filming reactions.
Views reached almost 500,000 in just over 12 hours. A smile counter appeared at the bottom of the screen, tracking grins received throughout the day. Lyrics mixed with commentary from the sisters.
"Aside from the disrespect in this clip ... my sisters & I went to collect as many 'smiles' in a day for the 'Joy' music video. We hope you feel the same JOY whilst watching. It was a beautiful day," wrote RAYE on Instagram.
The track comes from her second album,This Music May Contain Hope. According to Broadway World, it hit No. 1 in the UK, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Belgium when it debuted in March. The 17-track record unfolds across four seasons, moving from darkness to light and blending pop, R&B, jazz, big band, soul, and orchestral influences.
Otis Dominique directed the music video. Mikey Robbins served as Creative Director. The pair worked with RAYE to write and executive-produce the visual.
The gospel-infused, disco-tinged song has become a defining moment of RAYE's live performances. Amma and Absolutely each perform their own verse in the track.
At the end of August, the South London artist brought her sisters onstage during her headline set at Reading Festival, and they performed the track. The trio also sang it throughout her sold-out This Tour May Contain New Music run and on one of the final episodes of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Lime bikes in London will celebrate the launch by playing a clip of the single when riders unlock them. The music video features these rentable bikes, creating a tie-in for the release. "This is the first time an artist has taken over the iconic Lime unlock song to release new music," said Ellie Bird from Lime, according to Digital Music News.
"Where Is My Husband!" reached No. 1 in the UK and spent 30 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100, marking her second Top 10 on Billboard's Pop Airplay chart. RAYE spent much of 2026 performing across the UK, Europe, and the US on her 51-date tour, including six sold-out nights at London's The O2. She's joining Bruno Mars on 23 stadium dates across North America as part of The Romantic Tour.
