Ed Sheeran Brings Camila Cabello Onstage for Bam Bam Performance at MetLife Stadium

Ed Sheeran surprised fans when he invited Camila Cabello to join him at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 4. They sang their 2022 hit, "Bam Bam," during his Loop Tour stop in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The pair hadn't performed this track together in more than four years.

Before they sang, Sheeran spoke about how much their friendship means to him. "It's rare to form strong and real friendships, and I've been friends with this person for over a decade," he said during the show, according to Yahoo! Entertainment. "She was in New York, we saw each other earlier today, and I said, 'We should sing together.' It's one of my favorite songs. I can't wait to perform it."

Cabello showed up wearing a white cardigan with a green sequined shirt. After they finished, she turned to Sheeran and told him, "I love you."

Bam Bam debuted in March 2022 as the main single from Cabello's third studio album, Familia. The track debuted at No. 23 and later peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100. It reached No. 5 on the Billboard Global 200. More than 15 countries added it to their Top 10 lists, and the Recording Academy gave them a GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2023.

The song was on the UK Official Singles Chart for 24 weeks and peaked at No. 7. Eight of those weeks were inside the Top 10.

These two musicians first sang "Bam Bam" together in March 2022 at the Concert for Ukraine benefit show in Birmingham. Before that, they collaborated on "South of the Border" in 2019.

"I'm such a huge Ed Sheeran fan. When he first asked me to work with him on 'South Of The Border,' I was like, 'Uh yea, duh,'" said Cabello to The Music in 2022. "Even though we're friends, he's such a top-tier artist, and I didn't know if he would say yes to being on my project."

Sheeran played MetLife Stadium on Sept. 4 and 5 as part of his Loop Tour. Macklemore, Lukas Graham, and BIIRD opened for him.

Brendan B. Brown from Wheatus also made a guest appearance at the Sept. 5 show to perform "Teenage Dirtbag." Sheeran has said he might take some time off after the Loop Tour ends on Dec. 12.
