Megan Thee Stallion Plans Acting Career Modeled After Queen Latifah

Megan Thee Stallion wants to build an acting path like Queen Latifah. The 31-year-old rapper shared this on the IMO podcast.

"I'm really wanting to take my artistry bigger," Megan Thee Stallion said on the podcast. "I don't only want to do music; I do want to get into acting. That's just something I really want to pursue right now. I'm trying to figure out, what space do I fit in, what do I do next?"

She talked about her mentor as a blueprint. "Queen Latifah is my girl, and I'm a student of hers," she said. "Luckily, I'm also a friend of hers now." The admiration runs deep. "I always got to give her flowers because she is so inspirational. And I'm like, okay, Queen Latifah, this is my route. This is who I'm modelling this after," she said on the podcast.

Dana Owens, known as the Chicago star, has kept both a GRAMMY-winning music path and an Oscar-nominated acting run going for decades. Music came first. Acting followed.

The Houston native made her Broadway debut earlier this year playing Zigler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical. She has shown up in several TV shows. These include The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, P-Valley, and Good Girls.

Her film work includes Mean Girls, Dicks: The Musical, and Roommates. She's set to appear in Adam Sandler's next movie.
