Columbia County Library Offers Free Online High School Diploma Program for Adults

Columbia County Public Library now gives grown-ups a shot at earning a no-cost high school diploma and career certificate through an internet-based program. It's called Career Online High School, and it's accredited.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services provided the funds, which Florida's Department of State Division of Library and Information Services administers.

Career Online High School serves grown-ups who never crossed the finish line at a brick-and-mortar school. The internet format allows students to move through material at whatever speed suits them best.

The grant pays what the program costs. Students won't shell out a dime. Without this funding, they'd cover expenses themselves.

Library officials built a webpage with enrollment facts. Requirements live there. So do instructions for signing up.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services distributes federal money to libraries nationwide. These grants support all kinds of things, like new computers, education programs, and services for neighborhoods.
