KATSEYE Drops Out of Daisy Chain Fields After Megan Skiendiel Injures Ankle

KATSEYE was ready to keep its busy summer rolling, but one rehearsal took an unexpected turn. The global girl group will no longer perform at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival this weekend after Megan Skiendiel sprained her ankle during tour rehearsal.

On Thursday, Aug. 27, KATSEYE announced that the group would miss the Aug. 29 festival at Great Park in Irvine, California. Skiendiel, 20, was evaluated by doctors after the injury and was advised to stay off her ankle so it can properly heal before the group heads out on tour.

“We’re so incredibly sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields this Saturday. Megan sprained her ankle yesterday during tour rehearsal and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour,” KATSEYE World shared in a statement.

For KATSEYE, the cancellation is more than just missing another performance. The group had been especially excited about Daisy Chain Fields because of its all-female lineup and the festival’s focus on bringing people together through music.

“We know how much our fans were looking forward to seeing us, and it breaks our hearts to disappoint anyone who made plans to be there,” the group said. “We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it’s not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community.”

Skiendiel also shared her disappointment with fans, making it clear that she was not exactly thrilled about having to watch this one from the sidelines.

“I’m heartbroken to miss Daisy Chain Fields, especially because of everything this festival stands for,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

Daisy Chain Fields confirmed the news on Instagram, saying Skiendiel is recovering from a sprained ankle and wishing her “a smooth and speedy recovery.” The festival has since added Devon Again to its 2026 lineup.

KATSEYE had been scheduled to perform on the Dandelion Stage at 2:15 p.m., between sets from Santigold and Mitski. With the group out of the lineup, the festival released an updated schedule that moves Santigold into KATSEYE’s former time slot.

The cancellation comes during a seriously busy stretch for KATSEYE. Earlier this month, the group made its official late-night television performance debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing “Animal.”

Just two days later, the members performed for fans in New York City during the TODAY Show Concert Series. They brought “Hootie Frutti” and “Animal” to the TODAY Plaza, giving fans another chance to see the group in action.

KATSEYE also hosted a promotional event in August. The group performed “Gnarly” and gave “That Way” its live debut.

Then, on Aug. 16, KATSEYE surprised fans with an appearance at Disney’s D23 Legends Ceremony. The group performed “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)” from Hercules as a tribute to Susan Egan.

So, yeah, these six have been keeping their calendars pretty full.

Now the group is preparing for an even bigger challenge: taking its music around the world.

KATSEYE recently earned its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with WILD. The group is also set to release its upcoming EP of the same name ahead of The WILD WORLD Tour.

The tour is scheduled to begin in Dublin on Sept. 1. KATSEYE will perform across the U.K. and Europe through mid-September before beginning an 18-city North American leg on Oct. 13 in Miami.

For now, it is unclear whether Skiendiel’s injury will affect any of the group’s upcoming tour dates. Her doctors’ advice to stay off the ankle suggests the priority is making sure she heals properly before getting back onstage.

The festival cancellation also comes during a year in which KATSEYE has already dealt with changes to its six-member lineup.

Manon Bannerman began a temporary hiatus in February to focus on her health and well-being. Then, on Aug. 7, Sophia Laforteza announced that she was taking a temporary break to focus on her mental health and wellness following medical advice.

Even with those changes, the members have continued to talk about how important it is to support one another.

While appearing on Celebrity Substitute earlier this month, the KATSEYE members discussed the challenges that come with performing as part of a group. They also explained how they have learned to lean on each other when things get tough.

“I think when we first started, we’d get nervous a lot. Like, our first performances going on stage. It can be really scary, but then I think we learned to help each other. We give each other hugs before we perform,” Lara Raj said.

That kind of support could be especially important right now. Missing Daisy Chain Fields is disappointing, particularly for a group that had been excited about the festival’s message, but KATSEYE has plenty waiting on the other side.

For now, Skiendiel’s job is simple: rest that ankle.

The rest of KATSEYE will have to wait a little longer to hit the Daisy Chain Fields stage, but the group made sure to send love to Rodrigo, the festival performers and everyone working behind the scenes.

“We’re sending all our love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special,” KATSEYE said. “It’s going to be such an amazing day, and we can’t wait to see everyone out on tour.”
