“Glitter” Is Getting New Music
The 25th anniversary edition will include previously unreleased recordings from Carey's vault.
The celebration also kicks off with a new version of “Didn't Mean to Turn You On,” featuring singer Rochelle Jordan. Carey has described the track as a newly reimagined take on the song.
The new material gives fans another reason to revisit an album that has developed a devoted following over the years.
When Does the “Glitter” Reissue Come Out?
The expanded “Glitter” 25th Anniversary Edition is scheduled for October 30, 2026. It will be available digitally and on vinyl.
The vinyl release is especially notable because this will be the first time the “Glitter” soundtrack has been officially released on vinyl since its original 2001 release.
Collectors can expect multiple vinyl editions, including special-color versions.
From Punchline to Fan Favorite
When Glitter arrived in 2001, it was not received the way Carey and her fans hoped.
The soundtrack came out alongside Carey's film of the same name, which followed aspiring singer Billie Frank. The timing was also difficult, with the movie hitting theaters shortly after September 11, 2001.
