Train Marks 25 Years of ‘Drops of Jupiter’ With Summer Tour and 12th Studio Album

San Francisco band Train is touring this summer with a show called Drops of Jupiter: 25 Years in the Atmosphere. They're celebrating 25 years since releasing their triple-platinum album. The group will introduce their 12th studio album, Mad Dog in the Fog, on Aug. 28.

The new album takes its name from a San Francisco neighborhood bar. The record celebrates the place, community, and spirit that have stayed central to Train's identity for three decades.

Lead singer Pat Monahan and his bandmates have added one new track per night to their setlist. According to The Pitch, Monahan said, "We only put one new song in a night because I have too much love and respect for people who are buying tickets to come and see something that is familiar to them. ... I just don't think that's fair to an audience."

Train's audience has shifted. They've sold more tickets than ever and brought younger fans to shows. The band started in 1993. They've produced hits like "Meet Virginia," "Calling All Angels," and "Hey, Soul Sister." Their Christmas album, Christmas in Tahoe, inspired a Hallmark movie.

Monahan's 14-year-old son joined the tour, and he performs a Journey track during each show. Keith Urban showed up as a guest at one show. The setlist includes "50 Ways to Say Goodbye," "Calling on Angels," "Drops of Jupiter," and "Drive By."
