Ella Langley Replaces ‘Choosin’ Texas’ at No. 1 With Another Hit

Ella Langley has officially knocked herself off the top spot.

The country star and Morgan Wallen have taken “I Can’t Love You Anymore” to No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, ending the reign of Langley’s own “Choosin’ Texas” at the top of the radio ranking.

“I Can’t Love You Anymore” climbed from No. 2 to No. 1 in its 15th week on the Country Airplay chart.

The duet was released in April and quickly became one of the year's biggest country collaborations. It also made history when it debuted inside the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, making it the first country duet to accomplish that feat.

For Wallen, the latest achievement marks his 22nd No. 1 on Country Airplay. Langley, meanwhile, now has five chart-toppers, following “Choosin’ Texas,” “Be Her,” “weren’t for the wind” and her Riley Green collaboration “you look like you love me.”

The new No. 1 makes the achievement even more unusual for Langley.

“I Can’t Love You Anymore” is replacing “Choosin’ Texas,” which had been sitting at the top of the Country Airplay chart. In other words, Langley didn't just score another No. 1—she replaced herself.

That success comes as “Choosin’ Texas” continues its extraordinary run across the Billboard charts. The song has spent 16 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has become the longest-running Hot 100 No. 1 by a female country artist.

The song has also made Langley the first female country artist to simultaneously top the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts.

Langley's momentum began building with “you look like you love me,” her hit collaboration with Green, before “Choosin’ Texas” propelled her into superstardom. The song has gone on to dominate radio even beyond the country genre, streaming and sales while turning Langley into one of the most recognizable new names in music.
