The Battery Atlanta mixed-use development generated income. So did Truist Park events and commercial leases. These now represent a larger portion of what the business does.
For years, the franchise has worked to transform the ballpark district into a year-round destination and profit center. This strategy reflects a multi-year plan to generate income on days when no games happen.
Media rights, apparel, and entertainment assets increase what comes in and alter what the balance sheet looks like. Investment in team-controlled media platforms helps. So does sponsorship integration throughout Truist Park and The Battery, plus expanded retail operations that let the club capture more value.
BravesVision launched to drive growth as player salaries rise. The direct-to-consumer network aims to strengthen ties with fans who've cut the cord on cable but still want Braves content.
Officials said that as legacy media contracts mature, growth is expected to come from digital products. BravesVision. Streaming ad inventory. Premium content offerings tied to the club's competitive window.
CEO Derek Schiller said attendance was up. BravesVision subscriptions? Ahead of projections. The platform has potential to match or exceed revenue from the prior FanDeal Sports Network deal on an annualized basis.
"We're very encouraged by the early response from our fans," said Schiller, per AJC.com.
Schiller said gate receipts and digital engagement are feeding into sponsorship renewals and new partner interest. He described the shift from the FanDuel arrangement to BravesVision as a move that may produce more stable, controllable revenue for the club if current growth trends continue.
