Bad Bunny Set New Standard for Celebrity Wrestlers With WrestleMania 37 Performance

Bad Bunny trained harder than any celebrity in WWE history before his WrestleMania 37 tag team match in 2021. The rapper partnered with Damian Priest to defeat The Miz and John Morrison on Night 1 of the event on April 10, 2021, in Tampa. 

"Let me tell you something. When celebrities come into WWE, I've never seen anyone train more than Bad Bunny to get there," said The Miz in an interview with Contralona. "Not only was he training, he was literally going to SNL. Then, he would come and train. Like literally fly right back from SNL and train. Go to the GRAMMYs. Then, come right back to train."

His commitment changed how WWE handles celebrity matches. Bad Bunny's skills allowed him to stay in the ring for most of the bout instead of hiding in a corner. That's what past celebrity participants did.

"Like, he was so dedicated, and when he got in that ring, he was ready. He was prepared, and the proof is in the pudding," The Miz said. "You saw the ability that he was able to put on, and not everyone is able to do that. He kind of started that whole celebrity trend where it's like, 'hey, celebrities actually have to be good. We can't just hide them.'"

During the match, Bad Bunny hit Morrison with a Canadian Destroyer on the arena floor. Priest has said that the artist trained with him multiple days every week before WrestleMania.

Bad Bunny has competed in three WWE matches. His most recent bout was a San Juan Street Fight against Priest at Backlash 2023. After headlining the Super Bowl LX halftime show in February 2026, he was also linked with a possible return to wrestling.
