Ellie Goulding released "4 Seasons" as the second single from her sixth studio album, I Know Too Much, which arrives on Sept. 4 via Polydor Records. It comes after "Black Prada Dress," released in June.

"4 Seasons" showcases acoustic guitar paired with atmospheric textures. It explores the early moments when love begins. Jack Rochon, who collaborated with Beyoncé, co-wrote and produced it while serving as executive producer across the entire album.

She debuted "Four Seasons" on Later... With Jools Holland in June. Fans can watch the performance on YouTube.

Goulding first contacted Rochon through TikTok before they spent the past couple of years building this album together. They crafted these songs during what she described as a period when everything was shifting.

"The album came from the idea that maybe we can know too much. There is a certain kind of freedom in the ease of not knowing," Goulding said, according to The Music Universe. "This album is a collection of songs that represent a crossroads in my life where I realized what the freedom of not knowing has gifted me in the past, yet a time when I am at the precipice of understanding the true power in knowing."

She went on to say that writing has been her therapy. "Through the chaos of this great change, I went to my comfort zone and found my refuge in the studio. My initial instinct was I didn't know where it was all going, but I just knew I needed to be in the studio. Writing a song has always been my best form of therapy."

I Know Too Much is the BRIT Award winner's first album since Higher Than Heaven in 2023. That record topped the charts.

She's kept busy with other artists. Recent releases include "Free" with Calvin Harris, "Hypnotized" with Anyma, and "Save My Love" with Marshmello and Avalon.

Last month, she performed at halftime during England's quarter-final match against Norway in the World Cup. She also sang on Muse's single, "Hush," which appears on the trio's newest album, The Wow! Signal.
