Five years after turning heads around the world, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's explosive hit "WAP" has reached a milestone that only a handful of songs ever achieve, proving its impact is just as powerful today as it was when it first arrived.

On Monday (Aug. 3), Cardi B celebrated another career-defining moment after the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) officially certified "WAP" Diamond, recognizing the song for reaching the equivalent of 10 million units sold in the United States.

Cardi didn't waste any time thanking the fans who helped make the achievement possible.

"Love y’all so much… thank you for streaming and making history with us," she wrote in a post on X.

According to XXL, "WAP" is now the first collaboration between two female rappers to earn Diamond certification, making it a landmark moment for women in hip hop.

Cardi celebrated the accomplishment alongside her collaborator, writing, "Me and @theestallion really did that!!!"

Megan Thee Stallion quickly joined in the celebration with a heartfelt response.

"WOWW omg diamond sisterrr thank you for having me," Megan responded to Cardi’s post.

Another Record for Cardi B

The Diamond plaque is just the latest addition to Cardi B's growing list of accomplishments.

According to Chart Data, Cardi now has more RIAA Diamond-certified songs than any other female rapper, with four in total. Along with "WAP," her Diamond-certified hits include "Bodak Yellow," "I Like It" featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny, and her collaboration with Maroon 5, "Girls Like You."

Reaching Diamond status is no small feat. The RIAA awards the certification when a song reaches 10 times Platinum, or the equivalent of 10 million units sold through a combination of sales and streaming.

The achievement highlights just how much staying power Cardi's biggest songs continue to have years after their release.

Keeping the Momentum Going

Even with another history-making milestone under her belt, Cardi is already focused on what's next.

After releasing her long-awaited sophomore album Am I the Drama? last year and following it with the Little Miss Drama Tour, the rapper is continuing to give fans new music.

On Friday, she released her latest single, "AH HA," showing there's no slowdown in sight.

To celebrate the new release, Cardi encouraged fans to make the song part of every occasion.

She jokingly told them to "go run it up in the clubs… the weddings.. the funerals" in an Instagram post.

With "WAP" now officially Diamond and another new single already making its way to listeners, Cardi B continues to prove that her biggest hits are more than viral moments. They are becoming lasting pieces of hip hop history.
