The NFL season is still weeks away, but Justin Herbert has already scored one of the biggest moments of his year. Instead of making headlines for a touchdown pass or a training camp highlight, the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback is celebrating something much more personal. Herbert and singer-songwriter Madison Beer have officially announced their engagement, giving sports and music fans plenty to smile about.

The couple shared the exciting news Tuesday with a joint Instagram post that featured a simple but meaningful caption: "Meet my fiancé."

The announcement quickly caught the internet's attention. Within an hour, the post had already collected more than 800,000 likes, with thousands of congratulatory messages pouring in. Even the official NFL Instagram account joined the celebration in the comments.

From Rumors to Romance

Herbert and Beer first sparked dating rumors in August 2025 after they were spotted together on the set of one of Beer's music videos. At the time, neither publicly confirmed the relationship, but fans were quick to speculate after photos of the pair began circulating online.

As the fall went on, the signs became harder to ignore. Beer was regularly seen cheering Herbert on at Chargers games, and one memorable moment seemed to erase any remaining doubts. Before the Chargers' Week 5 matchup against the Washington Commanders, the two shared a kiss on the sideline, all but confirming they were a couple.

Their relationship continued to grow in the public eye over the following months. They attended a Los Angeles Dodgers World Series game together later that autumn and were also spotted courtside at Crypto.com Arena while watching the Los Angeles Lakers. Whether they were supporting Herbert on the football field or enjoying some of Los Angeles' biggest sporting events together, the pair seemed comfortable sharing special moments with each other.

Music and Football Come Together

The relationship also crossed into their professional lives.

Herbert appeared alongside Beer in the music video for her song "lovergirl," which was released in May as part of her latest album, locket deluxe. The cameo gave fans another glimpse of the couple together and showed a different side of the Chargers quarterback away from the football field.

Herbert also showed his support for Beer beyond the music video. During the Chargers' voluntary offseason program, he missed the second phase of workouts so he could support her while she was on tour.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh was more than understanding about the situation. When asked about Herbert's absence, Harbaugh joked that he offered: "Do you need a ride to the airport?"

Harbaugh also said he was "happy" the quarterback was supporting Beer on tour.

The comments reflected the close relationship Harbaugh has built with Herbert while also showing his support for players balancing their personal lives with football responsibilities.

A New Chapter Begins

For Herbert, the engagement marks another major milestone during what has already been a busy offseason. While fans are eager to see what he can accomplish on the field this season, many were just as excited to celebrate the quarterback's latest personal achievement.

Beer, meanwhile, continues to build her music career while enjoying the support of one of the NFL's biggest stars. Together, the two have become one of the more talked-about celebrity couples, bringing together fans from both the sports and entertainment worlds.

With an engagement now official and an NFL season just around the corner, Herbert has plenty to look forward to. Football may soon take center stage again, but for one day, the spotlight belonged to a different kind of victory.
