Morgan Wallen's second sold-out show at Michigan Stadium on July 25 opened with a surprise straight from the Winter Olympics, as hockey stars Quinn and Jack Hughes joined the country singer for his signature pre-show walkout. The moment drew a crowd of more than 100,000, reflecting the scale of Wallen's stop at the venue known as "The Big House."

Quinn and Jack, both members of the United States men's hockey team that won gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics, brought their medals with them. Jack scored the overtime winner in the Americans' victory over Canada in the gold-medal game. During the entrance, Wallen wore Jack's gold medal, while Quinn displayed his own and later gave it to Wallen to wear as well.

The brothers leaned into their Michigan ties for the appearance. Jack arrived carrying a Team USA hockey jersey, and Quinn, who played college hockey at the University of Michigan, wore a Wolverines football jersey bearing the name of former quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Quinn now plays in the National Hockey League for the Minnesota Wild, and Jack suits up for the New Jersey Devils.

The walkout continues to be a hallmark of Wallen's stadium tour, in which he invites athletes and other well-known figures from each host city to accompany him to the stage. A night earlier, at Wallen's first Michigan Stadium show, Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson filled that role. The Hughes brothers did not perform during the concert; their part was limited to the walkout.

Footage of the entrance spread quickly across social media, with fans highlighting both the Olympic hardware and the brothers' Michigan roots. The pairing of hockey royalty with country music and Big Ten football underscored the Hughes family's growing recognition well beyond the rink.
