Machine Gun Kelly and Wiz Khalifa Set to Headline Cleveland’s MGK Day Festival in August

Machine Gun Kelly brought news Thursday, July 23, about MGK Day's comeback. The Cleveland-born star will co-headline the two-day bash Aug. 7-8 with Wiz Khalifa. This city-approved event takes over downtown with shows, skateboarding contests, and activities for residents.

The hometown musician hits the stage at North Coast Yard on Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. Fireworks light up the sky when dusk arrives. Tickets became available Thursday at noon, with general admission set at $39.

"All walks of life from around the world travel to my city for one weekend to rage and enjoy the music, festivities, and community we've spent years growing," Machine Gun Kelly told Billboard.

Friday, Aug. 7 launches the weekend. The Red Bull Best Trick Contest starts at 5 p.m. at Crooked River Skatepark. Skaters will show off their talents while vendors, food trucks, and live music fill the space.

Saturday begins with a tailgate at noon. North Coast Yard hosts it. The Harley-Davidson City Ride gathers at South East Harley-Davidson at 2 p.m., then rolls out an hour later toward the festival.

Gates swing open at 3 p.m. Main stage acts begin three hours after that. Local vendors, artists, food trucks, and groups serving the community pack the grounds before the big show starts.

This show caps off a packed summer for both musicians, who just wrapped the Lost Americana North American Tour. They dropped their joint mixtape Blog Era Boyz on May 22 with nine tracks.

The tour packed amphitheaters and arenas. Over 20,000 tickets sold at The Pavilion at Star Lake near Pittsburgh.

Back in 2022, the performer pulled more than 50,000 fans to Huntington Bank Field, according to Billboard. That made him the first Ohio native to sell out the stadium — and the only one so far. Mayor Justin Bibb declared Machine Gun Kelly Day in Cleveland after that show.

What started as one concert has bloomed into a two-day celebration. Thousands arrive while local artists and businesses get a spotlight. The Lost Poets Society and other nonprofits partner with the event, working to help youth and families who need support through arts and wellness programs.

You can get tickets on their official website. Tailgate packages run $185. You get five general admission tickets plus a parking pass. VIP packages cost $237. There's also a special T-shirt option that comes with free entry.
