Whether it's catching the Super Bowl, rocking out at Electric Daisy Carnival, or witnessing history at the FIFA World Cup Final, attending America's biggest events has never been more expensive. According to a new study by Hard Rock Bet, ticket prices for many of the country's premier sporting events and festivals have more than doubled over the past decade, with several seeing increases of more than 500%.
The Five Most Expensive Events in 2026
According to Hard Rock Bet, these are the five events with the highest average ticket prices this year:
- FIFA World Cup Final – $14,237
- Super Bowl – $6,636
- NBA Finals – $5,447
- College Football Playoff National Championship – $4,320
- World Series – $3,000
The World Cup Final tops the list by a wide margin. According to Hard Rock Bet, limited ticket availability, enormous global demand, premium hospitality packages, and dynamic pricing have pushed average ticket prices above $14,000. The 2026 tournament's North American location has only added to the demand.
The Super Bowl remains one of the hottest tickets in sports. Hard Rock Bet reports that the average ticket has climbed from $2,000 in 2015 to $6,636 in 2026—a 231.8% increase. Beyond the game itself, the halftime show, celebrity appearances, and corporate hospitality continue to fuel demand.
The NBA Finals have experienced the biggest jump among the top events. According to Hard Rock Bet, average ticket prices skyrocketed 505.2%, rising from $900 in 2015 to $5,447 today. Celebrity attendance, increased media attention, and dynamic pricing have transformed the Finals into one of sports' premier entertainment experiences.
College football fans aren't getting any bargains either. The College Football Playoff National Championship has climbed from $845 to $4,320, marking a 411.3% increase over the past decade. Hard Rock Bet credits the sport's massive fan bases, growing television audience, and expanding national popularity for the dramatic rise.
Music Festivals Join the High-Priced Club
The study also highlights that major festivals are becoming increasingly expensive. Electric Daisy Carnival ranks ninth overall with an average ticket price of $1,511, while Burning Man comes in 13th at $1,246. Although they don't crack the overall top five, both festivals now command prices that rival some of America's biggest sporting events.
Other notable high-priced events include the Stanley Cup Finals ($2,300), Las Vegas Grand Prix ($1,638), Kentucky Derby ($1,406), March Madness Final Four ($1,397), United States Grand Prix ($1,365), WrestleMania ($1,200), and the U.S. Open ($938).
According to Hard Rock Bet, higher demand, premium fan experiences, hospitality packages, inflation, and dynamic pricing continue to drive ticket costs upward. For many fans, attending these bucket-list events has shifted from an annual tradition to a once-in-a-lifetime splurge as the price of admission keeps climbing.
