Bruno Mars’ ‘I Just Might’ Claims 19th Week at No. 1, Becomes Fifth-Longest R&B/Hip-Hop Chart Leader

Bruno Mars grabbed the top spot again on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with "I Just Might." Nineteen weeks at No. 1. The single from his album The Romantic pushed Drake's "Janice STFU" down to second after that track led for seven straight weeks, according to Forbes.

"I Just Might" now ranks as the fifth-longest-running No. 1 in chart history, breaking past Drake's "One Dance" and "Industry Baby" by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow. Both those songs ruled for 18 weeks.

The single has spent 26 weeks on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. 

As for Bruno Mars, two tracks by the artist have lasted longer. "That's What I Like" holds his record with 44 weeks. "Nothin' on You," which featured rapper B.o.B, spent 30 weeks before falling off.

The track could match Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus's "Old Town Road" soon, which dominated for 20 weeks. Three songs remain ahead: "Old Town Road" at 20 weeks, SZA's "Kill Bill" at 21 weeks, and Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" at 22 weeks.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA hold the all-time record with "Luther." It spent thirty-one weeks at the top between 2024 and 2025. That collaboration won the GRAMMY for Record of the Year.

The performer has sent 30 tracks to the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart throughout his career. Fourteen have reached the top 10, almost exactly half. Five have climbed to No. 1.

"I Just Might" marks his second hit with double-digit stays at the top, following "That's What I Like," which led for 10 periods back in 2017.
