There is nothing like a concert to remind everyone that sometimes the best therapy is singing along with your friends. Meghan Trainor traded bedtime routines for a fun night out, joining a familiar group of celebrity moms to cheer on Hilary Duff during her Los Angeles concert. The photos quickly caught fans' attention, especially after months of headlines surrounding the group's rumored friendship drama.
Trainor, 32, shared a carousel of photos and videos on Instagram showing herself and several friends enjoying a moms' night out at Duff's concert. The Toy with Me artist, who is a mom of three, looked all smiles as she spent the evening dancing, laughing and supporting one of her close friends.
The group photo included Trainor, Gaby Dalkin, Mandy Moore, Barb Thompson, Amanda Kaplan Lillywhite, Janice Gott, Kelsey Deenihan Fisher and Whitney Wagner Hartley.
“@hilaryduff thank u for the best concert with the best people💗,” she wrote in the caption.
A familiar group back in the spotlight
The outing comes months after Ashley Tisdale French's essay, "Breaking Up with My Toxic Mom Group," published by The Cut, sparked widespread conversation online. In the essay, the star never identified the women she was writing about. Still, many fans connected it to the celebrity mom group that had previously included stars such as Moore, Duff and Trainor.
As speculation spread, sources close to Tisdale French and the former friend group offered more context about what reportedly happened behind the scenes.
“It was a misalignment of values that Ashley decided to make public,” a source close to the group reportedly told PEOPLE. “Friends naturally drift apart. It didn’t warrant a dramatic breakup text.”
Hilary Duff addressed the situation
Duff also spoke publicly about the essay during an appearance on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy in February. She admitted the story left her feeling hurt.
“I felt really sad. I honestly felt really sad,” she said. “I was pretty, pretty taken aback and felt just, like, sad.”
She explained that becoming a parent naturally brought different friendships into her life over the years.
“So I think I just was like, ‘Woah,’ ” she added. “It sucks to read something that’s, like, not true. And it sucks on behalf of six women in all of their lives.”
Trainor had already poked fun at the headlines
Trainor also acknowledged the online buzz earlier this year with a lighthearted TikTok. In January, she shared a video joking about discovering the reported mom group drama.
“Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama,” Trainor wrote across the clip, which showed her sitting at a computer, typing and reacting with exaggerated surprise. The video featured her single "Still Don't Care" from her album Toy with Me.
“☕️☕️☕️ #stilldontcare,” Trainor wrote in the caption.
Now, with a concert night full of smiles and singalongs, Trainor's latest post offers a simple reminder that some friendships are best shown through shared moments instead of social media speculation.
