Madonna shattered records, attracting more than 2.1 million viewers on TikTok Live on July 2. This was the platform's biggest standalone artist broadcast. The pop icon unveiled her new album, Confessions II, just one day before it hit stores.

The hour-long stream received over 5.75 million likes and more than 139,000 comments from fans across the globe. Viewers voted in polls, shared confessions, and interacted with custom features built for the show.

Bob the Drag Queen guided viewers through the broadcast, which included appearances by the singer, producer Stuart Price, and Lourdes "Lola" Leon, who sings on the album track, "The Test." More than 200 radio stations broadcasted the audio simultaneously.

Confessions II claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 during its first week, selling 134,000 units. Critics praised the work, and industry watchers predict GRAMMY nominations when the ceremony happens next February.

She spoke about urgency, self-expression, and refusing to hold back desire as themes running through the work. "The time between desire and expressing it is getting shorter and shorter. Just blurt it out now. I don't waste time because time is precious," she said during the broadcast, according to AntiMusic.

She rejected pressure to chase algorithms and trends while making "Bring Your Love" with Sabrina Carpenter. She and Lola Leon talked about writing and recording "The Test" together. She also discussed reuniting with Stuart Price after 15 years apart, saying their chemistry came back without effort.

A pre-release promotion started in early June with a surprise concert in Times Square and an appearance at the Tribeca Festival. The celebration rolled on with fan pop-ups in New York City and London that offered immersive visuals, merchandise, and interactive photo opportunities.
