In a release issued just after 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, the couple announced the official nuptials happened in Madison Square Garden, and was officiated by Adam Sandler. Signs outside the arena announced "JUST&T MARRIED!" as fans erupted in cheers.
"Taylor & Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor's Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis' Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler," the release said. The couple chose to keep the wedding party limited to immediate family.
Celebrities had been spotted all afternoon outside the New York City arena, with rumors still swirling on what exactly was happening.
The wedding capped off a multiday celebration that started Thursday evening with a rehearsal dinner at MSG's Infosys Theater for roughly 100 family members and VIPs.
Law-enforcement and security sources had been preparing for days, confirming the arena-floor ceremony would be the most highly anticipated celebrity wedding event of the year.
Custom signage served as one of the only public-facing confirmations, before the brief release was put out, that the tightly guarded ceremony had taken place. Fans camping outside caught a brief glimpse. Street closures and heavy security prevented most from getting close.
Christian Dior Haute Couture and designer Jonathan Anderson designed the couple's outfits. Christian Louboutin created custom shoes. Cartier supplied jewelry worn by the bride.
"The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom. This is the designer's first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry."
The wedding took place during sweltering heat over the July Fourth weekend. Crowds congregated near barricades and in nearby businesses to escape the temperatures while hoping for a glimpse of arrivals or decor being delivered to the building.
A city permit obtained by The Associated Press confirmed festivities would run until 4 a.m. Street-closure permits had been requested around the arena from July 2 through the holiday weekend to accommodate security, guest arrivals, and late-night logistics.
Roughly 135 officers were assigned to work the MSG wedding events across Thursday and Friday, according to law-enforcement sources. Police blocked off most access near guest drop-off points. Some onlookers gathered in nearby businesses to catch a glimpse of the spectacle.
Attendees included singer Camila Cabello, actors Hugh Grant, Ethan Hawke, Jason Sudeikis, model Karlie Kloss, running back Kareem Hunt, Cooper Kupp, JuJu Smith-Schuster, NFL announcer Joe Buck, and author Jenny Han. The presence of multiple Kansas City Chiefs players and other NFL figures had been suggested by hotel bookings near Times Square in the days leading up to the event.
Phones were banned inside. This added to the sense of secrecy surrounding the ceremony and reception. Sources involved in planning said invitations had been handled via direct calls and texts rather than physical mail.
The couple donated $26 million to 20 local and national charities across the U.S. earlier this week. Organizations in Nashville, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and New York received funds, with Paine confirming the donations as part of the lead-up to wedding festivities.
Both are 36 years old and walking down the aisle for the first time. The three-time Super Bowl champion and the music star made their connection official about three years after the Chiefs began their current championship run and following her record-breaking stadium tour.
The relationship has captivated millions since they started dating in 2023. Public interest has spanned both music and sports audiences. Appearances at Chiefs games and award shows generated continuous media attention.
The wedding weekend falls during New York celebrating the nation's 250th birthday, a parade of tall ships on the Hudson River, and a World Cup game in New Jersey. City officials treated the MSG wedding as one component of a broader Independence Day operations plan.
