Publix Property in Aiken Sells for Over $21M in Major Real Estate Deal

Real Sub LLC bought the site holding a Publix supermarket at The Village at Woodside in Aiken. The price? $21,254,557. This happened last month. The sale covered a 9.2-acre piece at 1535 Silver Bluff Road, plus a smaller 1.79-acre plot on High Gate Loop.

County records show the deal wrapped up on May 15. Woodside Aiken Peach LLC sold both sites.

Real Sub operates as a Florida limited liability company. Its address links to Publix Super Markets Inc. at 3300 Publix Corporate Parkway in Lakeland, Florida. Corporate Creations Network Inc. acts as the registered agent.

Ronald O. Swinson Jr. serves as registered agent for Woodside Aiken Peach, which is based in South Carolina. He lives in Blythewood.

The Village at Woodside location started serving customers in December. It spans 46,791 square feet.

Inside, shoppers find a deli counter with full service. There's a bakery. Produce sits alongside meat and seafood sections. A pharmacy operates within the store, complete with a drive-thru window for prescriptions.

Two other Publix stores serve the area. One sits at 250 East Gate Drive in Aiken. The other operates in North Augusta at 334 East Martintown Road.

The company runs more than 1,400 stores across eight states: South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

George W. Jenkins started the company back in 1930. He opened the first store in Winter Haven, Florida. Today, the chain employs more than 260,000 workers.
