Alessia Cara built her own Giant Desk concert series on June 10 after NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts rejected her. The performance was filmed alongside her band.
"Well, Tiny Desk said no to me a couple times, so I exercised free will and built my own Giant Desk out June 10. 6 songs live from an office with these cool cats." the artist wrote on Instagram.
The Brampton singer-songwriter's setlist included "Middle Ground," "I'm in Trouble," "Stay," "Shapeshifter," "Nighttime Thing," and "Here."
The 29-year-old has been a mainstay in Canadian music since her 2015 debut single, "Here." She released a jazz record called Love or Lack Thereof, which is the follow-up to 2025's Love & Hyperbole.
Nelly Furtado and Norah Jones appeared as guests on the jazz album. Fans praised the Canadian artist for creating her own platform instead of waiting for an invitation. Cara performed at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Toronto alongside Alanis Morissette. She also contributed to this month's Boi-1da-produced Canada Soccer tribute album, WHAT IF IT ALL GOES RIGHT?.
